Rural tourism and agrotourism determines in fact a new form of tourism in which tourists can participate effectively in local community life during the stay.
The motivation for this type of tourism is the return to nature, to the village, tourists who come from urban areas. This return to the countryside is a form of active rest, fresh air treatment, a diet of healthy food and fresh farmyard, especially a return to simple pleasures of living in the village.
This type of tourism beneficial for tourists but also for locals lay the groundwork for rural locations with specific programs to visitors, some of them original (area), others successfully imported from Europe (France, Germany, Britain, Scandinavian countries etc).
Thus can be born households with guest rooms, camping farm households with meadows and barns appointed rural locations by 6-8 rooms, guest houses independent residential household.
After 1989 were built more hostels en route to listing 1000, in the foothills, and in the area around Targoviste, construction of up to eight rooms for guests and restautant volleyball, tennis, some even with swimming pools, saunas and even horseback riding opportunities. All this was made possible by the zonal development programs with partial financing of the Romanian state.
Entry into the European Union opened the way for more specific funding programs of the EU and can say that it is proposed a new stage in the development of rural tourism and rural tourism in this area.
In any case, the path is open and there are plenty of opportunities for all forms of tourism (recreation and leisure, mountain, rural, agricultural, cultural, religious, educational, ecotourism etc.), and the area is full of trails and attractions for all way.
